Side note (Feb 2015): unfortunately I some how managed to delete most of the photos in my blogs. I have updated the gallery at the end but some of the blog posts are gone.
and yes the final painting. I think the lines of the body are a bit cleaner than the other one.......mainly because this time i new what style i was paiting/drawing... not sure if i like the clean lines or the more 'unpolished' look...... maybe both?
I usually draw a picture on the canvas and not scetch then before hand so using the life drawing as the study has helped with the figure.........I havnt decided though if this is a better or not though?????
While I was waiting for the paint to dry on 'women reclying', I wanted to try another painting in a similar style. This one is based on the following life drawing. I have to say going back to life drawing classess after 10 years or so has been great, just to get back to basics and help with form.
this is my almost finished painting based on the ipad scetch. I used a palet knife only with the paint and blue dry pastel for the body......tried a new abstract kinda style here.
I decided the picture needed some more color. also decided I will try and paint this and see how I go. It's one of the few times I have actually scetched something before I painted it also.
It has been a long time since i have updated anything and here it is. My first attempt at drawing/scetching on an ipad, an abstract picture of a women laying down.
Which beleive it or not I used the life drawing study I drew thats under it as a guide.
